NPPA Best of Photojournalism Awards, Multiple Categories

ProPublica’s visual storytelling department — including the staff films team and independent photographers who the department partnered with on various projects — were honored with multiple awards by the National Press Photographers Association in its Best of Photojournalism awards.

The visual storytelling team won third place in the picture editing team of the year — national category.

“The Right Way,” from ProPublica and The Texas Tribune, directed by Gerardo del Valle, won second place in the short form documentary category and honorable mention in the editing category.

“'Cookie & Zo’e': A Georgia Family Wrestles With School Choice 60 Years After Desegregation,” directed by Liz Moughon and Almudena Toral, won third place in the short form documentary category and second place in the editing category.
